How to Make Kadrai Paneer

Kadai Paneer is a popular Indian dish made with paneer (cottage cheese) and a blend of spices. Here is a detailed recipe to make Kadai Paneer:

Ingredients:

  • 250g paneer, cut into cubes
  • 2 medium sized onions, chopped
  • 2 medium sized tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a kadai (wok) over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and wait until they start to crackle.
  2. Add chopped onions and fry until they are golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for another minute.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they are soft and mushy.
  5. Add green bell pepper, coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, and turmeric powder. Stir well to mix.
  6. Add salt to taste and stir again.
  7. Add paneer cubes to the mixture and stir gently to coat with the spices.
  8. Add 2 tbsp heavy cream and stir.
  9. Let the mixture cook for another 2-3 minutes until the spices are well blended with the paneer.
  10. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice.

To cook Kadai Paneer, the following utensils are usually used:

  • A wok or kadhai (a deep, round-bottomed cooking pan) for stir-frying the ingredients.
  • A chopping board and knife for chopping onions, tomatoes, and green bell pepper.
  • A spatula for stirring and tossing the ingredients in the wok.
  • A bowl for mixing the spices.
  • A measuring spoon for measuring the spices.
  • A ladle for adding the heavy cream to the mixture.
